MS Simulator: Practice T&G's

I loaded MS Simulator along with a yoke and pedals. Then setup several flights all on short final at CRP and Mustang Beach. Some with and without crosswinds. Got in a LOT of landing practice! I think it might help .. I'll know next time I actually go our and try some T&G's.

I'm also excited about practicing my other pattern work including ground manuvers .. eights.. circles ..etc

Flight #11 T&G's with Tres

First time up with Tres practicing T&G's. Had a pretty good Xwind out of 240 on rwy 17 at CRP. It wasn't pretty but at least I got some practice in. The hours don't count since Tres is not a certified instructor.

Because of Genna's Vet trip to DC and Jamey's 21st BD in Vegas I'll be traveling and won't fly for about a week. Hopefully upon my return I can begin logging some serious hours.

Definetly behind my target schedule .. probably won't solo until mid to late Febr.

Flight #10 T&G's @ CRP Class C Airspace!

Did 7? T&G's at CRP Rwy 13 with winds out of 140 at 15.

I say I did 7 which includes at least 3 go arounds because I flared too high. Oh that elusive 'site picture' .. you know the one that tell's you when you're 10' above the runway. Well I still don't have it.

I've got MS Sim and pedals coming .. going to fly the shit out of it with T&G's and try to get that picture. Also plan to go up with Tres Saturday to see if he can help.

Tim believes ( or wants to believe ) that I'll solo in a few weeks .. I can't see it happening until I can start nailing these landings which may happen.

Tim also told me that more student pilots are killed or quit at my stage .. its the most dangerous phase of flying. OK .. so in addition to learning the flare I need to avoid killing myself. Hmm .. so why am I doing this? Cause I got that HOT Columbia 400 coming in May so I better get my shit together!

Dealing with the CRP tower yesterday and all of the traffic and the radio ... looking for traffic ... extended downwinds ... and other spacing maneuvers .. well that was another new experience .. this assumes you hear the Tower and you understand what they said .. oh well ... no one said it'd be easy.
